Two people in Maharashtra's Pune city have tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19), said Chief Health Officer of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Ramchandra Hankare. With travel history to Dubai, both of these individuals have been admitted to the Naidu Hospital in Pune for quarantine purposes.As of March 9, the Health Ministry has maintained that there are 41 active cases of Covid-19 in India along with three cases from Kerala where infected patients were treated and discharged earlier this year.
On Monday, the states of Karnataka, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir reported their first confirmed cases of coronavirus. Meanwhile, one new case was reported from Kerala, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh each. Two new cases of Covid-19 cases were reported from Pune city in Maharashtra sometime before midnight on March 9.Data released by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) reveals that as of March 9, as many as 9,41,717 international passengers from 8,827 flights have been screened for the infection. Out of these, only 54 passengers have either been referred to hospitals or brought under the IDSP community surveillance. At present, there are 286 doctors, 160 nurses and 295 paramedics stationed at airports across the country for screening purposes
